The 53′ dry van is the most common truckload trailer on the road. Dry van trailers are fully enclosed boxes designed to transport a wide range of freight safely and securely. Each trailer can haul up to 45,000 lbs, making dry van the industry standard for moving non-perishable goods on both local and over-the-road (OTR) lanes.
Unlike flatbed trailers that leave your goods exposed, dry vans are closed, sealed, and locked. This protects your freight from weather and theft. Unlike refrigerated trailers, dry vans don’t have climate control so they’re ideal for goods that are not sensitive to temperature. With average rates lower than reefer, dry van trucks are a cost-effective transportation mode.
